LOUISA LYNE & di Yiddishe Kapelye released their debut album, Debyut, in 2012. Since then, they have gained international acclaim for their warm and emotionally resonant musical style, which has captivated audiences around the globe. Seamlessly blending traditional klezmer with modern pop and world music, the group creates a soundscape enriched by elements of folk and art music. Their work reimagines Yiddish music in a way that feels both innovative and authentic.

At the heart of the ensemble is Louisa Lyne, a native of Härnösand/Sweden, whose deep passion for the Yiddish language has shaped her artistic journey. Through years of study and creative exploration, she has found her unique voice within the language.

Cohen in Yiddish
Louisa Lyne & di Yiddishe Kapeyle present a selection of Leonard Cohen’s poems and songs reimagined in Yiddish. This program - which the ensemble will present live now in 2025/2026 -  features newly written material, where Cohen’s poetry has been translated and set to music, alongside some of his most cherished classics. The result is a heartfelt and soulful tribute that offers a unique perspective, bringing Cohen’s words even closer to his Jewish heritage.
This musical homage celebrates his remarkable life and legacy, premiered in the year he would have turned 90—2024.
