Born in Barcelona, KETEKALLES is an explosion of power, resistance, and musical fusion. With roots spanning Chile, Venezuela, Argentina, and Spain, the five musicians from Barcelona mix, combine and playfully cross musical boundaries and use the diverse elements of Catalan rumba, rock/punk, flamenco, hip-hop, soul, pop and even trap. This energetic mix makes it uniquely exciting - and is consciously reminiscent of the early Mestizo movement.
Each member brings a unique story — from the resistance in the streets of Latin America to the underground effervescence of the Catalan music scene — making KETEKALLES a space for free and collective expression. Their lyrics address feminism, identity, and social struggles, while their sound merges the raw energy of punk, the passion of latin beats, and the visceral rhythm of rumba.
In 2020, KETEKALLES released their first album "El Chaos". This was followed by sold-out headline tours in Spain and festival appearances throughout Europe and Latin America - while these tours they have shared the stage with some of the most influential artists in the alternative music scene, solidifying their place as one of today’s most powerful and necessary voices.
KETEKALLES' songs deal with topics such as migration, machismo, childhood, capitalism and its effects, especially on the lives of women in today's society. Their lyrics are sincere and intelligent, their music conveys a lasting impression full of energy and strength simply through its diverse rhythmic variety. KETEKALLES is about dissidence - about opening up alternative perspectives and reporting on their roots and experiences. The band presents a show in which they clearly position themselves as an important voice in a society in transition - with the aim of overcoming the chaos.
In the end KETEKALLES is more than music: it's a scream, a community, and a safe space starting point for those who seek to change the world through art.
Brief Individual Bios:
Camila Lopez (Chile): Raised among mountains and rivers, she blends her love for dance, theater, and percussion on stage. She migrated to Spain, where she found in Ketekalles a space to channel her creative energy and challenge the patriarchal structures of the music industry.
Tole (Ana Toledo Civico) (Spain): Growing up in Cornellá surrounded by guitars and punk culture, her musical journey led her from rap and activism to forming Ketekalles, where she solidified her artistic identity and passion for songwriting.
Mar Castells (Spain): A musician at heart, her path took her from reggae and rap to percussion, exploring identity and collectivity through music. In Ketekalles, she has found a home where she can keep growing while advocating for diversity and resistance.
Andrea Isabelina (Venezuela): Her voice was a secret for years until music saved her. From Venezuela to Spain, her journey has been one of resilience and self-discovery. Today, in Ketekalles, she has found a space where she shines brighter than ever.
Nadia Lago Saez (Argentina): From the Buenos Aires suburbs to Barcelona, her story is that of a bassist who broke barriers, exploring blues, rock, and alternative music. Ketekalles gave her the chance to turn her dream into reality.
